morning invitations * soul-work

here's this week's care-of-your-soul worksheet

print it out, mark it up, make it your own, have a ball

links in red take you back to the original post

enjoy!

soul
Spiritual renovation and restoration require continual choices that require us to say 'no' to less urgent invitations.  Is saying 'no, thanks' a challenge for you?

What specific inward renovation is begging for your attention?

What do you need to decline so you can tend to this need?

solitude
Communication.  Communion.  Adventure.  Quest.  Journey.  Which of these 5 words best describes the invitation to spiritual transformation for you?

How does this word impact your desire to go deeper in your relationship with Christ?

What would be different about your daily living if that sacred relationship grew stronger?

savor
What's your track record with daily Bible reading plans?

Does the idea of savoring God's Word seem foreign or familiar?

What steps can you embrace that would cultivate a more substantial daily sacred get-together with Him?

journal
When, where, and how do you find yourself praying these days?

Does the idea of writing your conversations with God appeal to you?

Take this opportunity to write a prayer to Him about whatever is weighing most on your heart.

  1. Hi Linda, it is lovely soul searching list. A lot of work for me on keeping Bible reading plans.
    Thank you for today's reflection.

  4. I love this! I am doing this same kind of thing in the discipleship group that I started at my church. I love digging deeper into who I am and how I am wired when it comes to my faith. Thank you for sharing and for leaving us with such a great tool. Happy Sunday!

    1. You said it, Mary ... God is always calling us to something deeper and more substantial. I'm so glad that these questions are helpful!

Happy Sunday to you, too, friend! And hey ... we're 1/3 of the way through 31 Days!

  5. I love typing out my prayers. I keep them in a password protected file, Linda, and find that God really uses that way of praying to open my eyes and illuminate my understanding better than traditional modes of prayer. I know everyone is different in this, so I'm not saying my way is better for others. But it certainly has been so important to my spiritual walk. I love the questions you've posed here, my friend. They are thought-provoking and needed so that we wet our appetite for the Lord and His word. Hugs to you!

    1. What a treasure trove, kept under lock and key for your Redeemer's eyes only. You have been a faithful prayer warrior for me, Beth, for so long ... thank you seems pretty insignificant.

May God bless you in untold ways because of your faithful intercession, my dear sister in Christ ...
