this little faux sweetheart
wears my favorite color as she
wears my favorite color as she
joins vintage books with blue covers
hanging out on the white mantel

a little butter dish
overflowing with seaglass

i smile every time I pass by
this little simple, calming vignette
welcome, dear autumn
i'm so glad you've come once again
you always were my favorite season

Blue is my favorite color, Linda, and autumn my favorite season. God bless your cozy fall home!

I absolutely agree with you, Martha!
Linda, I found a light blue one in the store today and thought of you. I'll breathe a prayer for you when I pass by it in our home.
ReplyDeleteA prayer pumpkin.
DeleteI love that, Debby.
It's amazing what God can use to remind us to turn to Him ...
I’ve always loved this time of year,
ReplyDeleteit’s that for which I yearn,
and now, at last the day draws near
for Great Pumpkin’s return!
I’ve got to find that pumpkin patch,
and will be enterprising
that as a reward for waiting catch
a photo of his rising.
Now, you may find this tale far-fetched,
like cities on, say, Venus,
but straight upon my heart it’s etched
as a die-hard fan of ‘Peanuts’.
So my grand plan for that night is
to watch and wait and text with Elvis.
Ah ... there's a trio - Charlie Brown, Elvis, and Andrew!
DeleteA force to be reckoned with, for sure.

Where, oh where is fall?? NOT here in the smoldering deep South!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, My Friend!
Yep, air conditioners have been running in this neck of the woods, too, friend! But today's a beauty, all crisp and warm and golden.

Linda,
ReplyDeleteBlue...my favorite color. I pray you are well. I've been meaning to tell you that I saw a woman that made me think of you, but her eyes were a different color. Glad, you have also found Peter Scazzero's podcasts helpful :-)
I'm glad to see you again, Dolly. I read your post and am so sorry for the great loss you have experienced. I've found writing through grief to be hugely therapeutic. I hope you'll find the same to be true.
DeleteSending love your way, praying for you even as we speak.
Linda,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Fall. After the sluggish feeling that come from heat and humidity, I feel energized when the first hint of a fall breeze begins to blow. Here in the South we have a lot of sunny, dry days with blue skies. I adore the change of the leaves against the backdrop of so many pine trees. Sadly, Fall is taking its good old time in getting to the South. Our pumpkins are baking on our porches as we speak lol. Love your little vignette.
Fall blessings friend,
Bev xx
Bev, you used two powerful words - sluggish and energized. Perfectly coined, so absolutely true.
DeleteBaked pumpkins is an apt observance, too!
;-}
Blue for autumn? Why not?! This is lovely and VERY smile-worthy.
ReplyDeleteBlue. Always and forever.
DeleteNot my soul.
But the color that calms and soothes and brings a sweet kind of rest for body, mind, and soul. In my home, on the blog, the clothes I wear, the cover on my phone ... and often on my toes.
Etc.
;-}
Your home is always a haven of peace and blue pumpkins are so you.
ReplyDeleteLovin the fall sunshine.
You're sweet.
DeleteAnd I miss you!

Same here
DeleteI love that little vignette! Something about a stack of old books that just is so cozy...and with a pumpkin, it is fall coziness at its best:)
ReplyDeleteYep, a stack of old books is one of the best kinds of cozy, Jennifer!
DeleteAbsolutely ...
