morning invitations * dance

Praise the Lord.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
His praise in the assembly of the saints ...

Let them praise His name with dancing
and make music to Him with
tambourine and harp.

For the Lord takes delight in His people;
He crowns the humble with salvation.

Let the saints rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.

May the praise of God be in their mouths ...
Psalm 149:1, 2-5

God, we're rejoicing in this brand new day 'cause
You've been so incredibly good and kind and faithful!

Accept the praises that rise full and strong from
hearts that overflow with a joyous gratitude.

For You alone are worthy to be adored and celebrated.
And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Humble yet confident, we can't wait to see all
You have for us to be and to do in the season that beckons.

Meanwhile we sing, we pray, we wait ...
and yes, we just might even dance!
In Jesus Name.
Amen.

  1. What a wonderful pot to which to come in the morning, and I love Mandisa's song! Thank you for this, Linda.

    1. I know you're not exactly up to dancing these days, pal, but I hope Mandisa got your foot tapping just a bit!

  2. Well, I didn't dance this morning but I did sing! :) We got to participate in Outdoor Church this morning with a rather large crowd of our homeless community, and it was a blessed time.

    1. Yep, in their beds, in the streets, in a chapel glorious ... wherever, let His name be praised!

    1. And most mornings I sure could use her energy, Mary! I'm more the stumbling-out-of-bed type, ya' know?

  6. Hi Linda! I have heard this song before, but didn't know it was Mandisa! I remember when she was on American Idol (does that date me too much??). I'm swaying to the beat as I type...I'm a slow starter in the morning, but now? I can appreciate the quick tempo :)
    Blessings,

    1. Yeah, I'm a slow starter in the morning, too ... I'm sure not leaping around like the guys in the video, either! Although what do you bet that it wasn't 7 am when most of them were shooting?!

Swaying. Yep, I can do that!

Hope your weekend's been a pleasure, girl ...

  7. Love the attitude you are spreading around here, Linda! You seem so joyful and yet I know this has to be a hard time for you. Maybe you're feeling the comfort of the Lord through all the prayers your friends and cyber-buddies are offering up on your behalf! Btw, you don't have to enter me in your giveaway, since I won a great session with you last year probably at about this time. I don't want to hog you all to myself. Gotta spread the love that is "Linda!" ;)

    1. As always, you are so right on, Beth --> 'you're feeling the comfort of the Lord through all the prayers your friends and cyber-buddies are offering up on your behalf!'

Thank you for leading the pack, friend. You show me what being a prayer warrior looks like. Faithful, you are ...

    1. I'm doing good and am glad you're here following along! And yes, I've chosen not to write on Sundays, to take a bit of a sabbath break along the way.
