Yay, you're back again! That always makes me smile. I love putting my feet up for a leisurely visit with you on the weekends. A special welcome to those of you who are new 'round these parts. I hope you quickly sense a feeling of belonging, of community here.
π¦ My friend Angela is back blogging after a year off. She's fun, reflective, wise ... and brings a wide variety of ministry experience to the table. How kind of you to head over to her place and say 'hi.'
π¦ There's nothing like a stroll in freezing drizzle, bird app in hand, to wake you up to the variety of winged creatures all around you. This month's new findings? A belted kingfisher. A peregrine falcon. A common raven. A wilson's snipe. And some kind of egret with a bit of an attitude who completely ignored me.
π¦ This quiet piano hymns / beautiful bird video settled my Mom in for an afternoon snooze during a recent visit. Thank You, Jesus.
π¦ This month's 4 Somethings. An enlightening conversation on clutter. And an iron-sharpens-iron discussion on devotions.
π¦ The brand new e-book deals page and the updated resources page are up and running with lots of visitors. How kind of you to share these links with your fans and followers. Be sure to bookmark the e-book deals page and check in often because I'm updating it on the regular. I love this!
π¦ I've signed up for Christianity Today's free Reimagining Biblical Womanhood webinar on March 11. Hope to see you there? {The book of the same title was one of my 3 top picks last year.}
π¦ 'If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds'
- Matthew 6:25-26 {The Message}.
May God give you soul-deep rest this weekend ~
Linda
* Friday Evening Update
I don't think there'll be much rest
ReplyDeletefor us on the coming weekend's
days, and it's truly for the best,
for coming are two furry friends,
Chihuahuas of a senior age,
just needing a homey place;
Barb and I, on the same page
chose to offer every grace
and let them come to live right here,
among this pack of giants,
for which they need have no fear
but instead reliance
that they'll get the love we have to give
for as long as they shall live.
You guys have such big hearts. I'm guessing the four-footed family members will break them in well ... and hopefully not too roughly.
DeleteHow many does that make running in and out these days? πΆ
They have calmed right down. Belle the Wolf is lying next to their crate.
DeleteI think they make...14? And there is of course a cat.
There always must be a cat.
Wow. Sometimes there's not much I can say! God bless you guys. You're incredible. π±
DeleteWishing you a happy relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
You, too, Victor π΄.
DeleteLovely photos as always! We have had some snow this week too. And thanks for the mention of the Biblical Womanhood webinar. I have signed up - it sounds great and the timing works really well too as it's evening here.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's so much fun knowing someone else who'll 'be there,' too, Lesley π♀️!
DeleteHave a restful and lovely pre-Lenten weekend, Linda!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
It's hard to believe this special season is almost upon us, Martha. Right now, I just want to say, 'He is Risen Indeed!'
DeleteWhat a joy to do so π!
I love the Message version of Matthew! ...."not tied down to a job description." Words I needed to read today! And how interesting it must be to scan your area of all the different bird species! I'm envious!
ReplyDeleteThe Message sure hits home, doesn't it. It seemed so appropriate right about now ... π
Delete"careless in the care of God" - oh, how I love that! May I learn to live just that way, dear Lord. It was so wonderful to come visit with you, sweet friend. You are such a blessing to me! Sending much love to you today.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it absolutely wonderful that He cares for us in such a way that we don't have to plan every second of our lives out ... and that we can give our burdens to Him. So grateful for His bounty of love π.
DeleteI totally spaced last week's Share Four Somethings. I actually started it in January, but this past week and a half has been crazy. I have had it on my to-do list all week, hoping to catch up tomorrow! Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing, Linda.
ReplyDeleteYep, I hear you, Cindy. Some weeks are so packed we don't know if we're coming and going. But all will be well. Enjoy writing when you're able π»!
DeleteJust enjoyed your e-mail.... and especially the Birds music and how happy they looked and sounded....
ReplyDeleteEspecially enjoyed picture of your very relaxed Mom!! I can't imagine life without music!!!
Speaking of birds, I just came in from clearing off some of the deck railing and putting down some bird food.... I have had many robins around my yard for over a month now........ perhaps they forgot directions to Florida!!! Fun to watch when I am not sewing that is!!!
Blessings to you and your family

Deleteπ§
Love the photos Linda & you have been busy! π€ Bless you my friend, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI'd love to share a cup of tea with you right about now ☕ ☕ ...
DeleteThat third picture? I'm glad you took that one and not me. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite wintertime snapshots πΈ ...
DeleteI just love the bird photos! I am a huge bird lover.
ReplyDeleteOh, you, too π¦?!
DeleteI love your weekend roundups, joining you on your porch.
ReplyDeletePaula, I'm glad you're here π§!
DeleteLinda, such a precious picture of your mom. I know you cherish every moment with her, whether she’s sleeping or not. ❤️
ReplyDeleteYes, yes.
DeleteThis is a bittersweet season π. God knows.
A walk in the freezing drizzle would not be on my list!
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you, Lauren ... it's way way out of my comfort zone! It was a day I HAD TO get out of the house or I'd go crazy π¨️!
DeleteI too have been focusing on birds this winter. Identifying some new ones at the feeder. Feeding them (they eat more the colder it gets). And reading about them. Field Notes form an Unintentional Birder by Julia Zarankin, is a fun read.
ReplyDeleteI headed right over to my library website and reserved this book, Theresa! Already, I'm looking forward to curling up with it. Thanks for the thumbs up π
