Yay, you're back again!  That always makes me smile.  I love putting my feet up for a leisurely visit with you on the weekends.   A special welcome to those of you who are new 'round these parts.  I hope you quickly sense a feeling of belonging, of community here.

🐦  My friend Angela is back blogging after a year off.  She's fun, reflective, wise ... and brings a wide variety of ministry experience to the table.  How kind of you to head over to her place and say 'hi.'

🐦  There's nothing like a stroll in freezing drizzle, bird app in hand, to wake you up to the variety of winged creatures all around you.  This month's new findings?  A belted kingfisher.  A peregrine falcon.  A common raven.  A wilson's snipe.  And some kind of egret with a bit of an attitude who completely ignored me.

🐦  This quiet piano hymns / beautiful bird video settled my Mom in for an afternoon snooze during a recent visit.  Thank You, Jesus.

🐦  This month's 4 Somethings.  An enlightening conversation on clutter.  And an iron-sharpens-iron discussion on devotions.

🐦  The brand new e-book deals page and the updated resources page are up and running with lots of visitors.  How kind of you to share these links with your fans and followers.  Be sure to bookmark the e-book deals page and check in often because I'm updating it on the regular.  I love this!

🐦  I've signed up for Christianity Today's free Reimagining Biblical Womanhood webinar on March 11.  Hope to see you there?  {The book of the same title was one of my 3 top picks last year.}

🐦  'If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion.  There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body.  Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God.  And you count far more to him than birds'
- Matthew 6:25-26 {The Message}.

May God give you soul-deep rest this weekend ~
Linda

  1. I don't think there'll be much rest
    for us on the coming weekend's
    days, and it's truly for the best,
    for coming are two furry friends,
    Chihuahuas of a senior age,
    just needing a homey place;
    Barb and I, on the same page
    chose to offer every grace
    and let them come to live right here,
    among this pack of giants,
    for which they need have no fear
    but instead reliance
    that they'll get the love we have to give
    for as long as they shall live.

    1. You guys have such big hearts. I'm guessing the four-footed family members will break them in well ... and hopefully not too roughly.

      How many does that make running in and out these days? 🐢

    2. They have calmed right down. Belle the Wolf is lying next to their crate.

      I think they make...14? And there is of course a cat.

      There always must be a cat.

  5. I love the Message version of Matthew! ...."not tied down to a job description." Words I needed to read today! And how interesting it must be to scan your area of all the different bird species! I'm envious!

    1. Isn't it absolutely wonderful that He cares for us in such a way that we don't have to plan every second of our lives out ... and that we can give our burdens to Him. So grateful for His bounty of love πŸ’™.

  7. I totally spaced last week's Share Four Somethings. I actually started it in January, but this past week and a half has been crazy. I have had it on my to-do list all week, hoping to catch up tomorrow! Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing, Linda.

  18. I too have been focusing on birds this winter. Identifying some new ones at the feeder. Feeding them (they eat more the colder it gets). And reading about them. Field Notes form an Unintentional Birder by Julia Zarankin, is a fun read.
