RELEASE
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn ...
~ Isaiah 61:1 - 2 ~

praise God that
He mends our brokenness
so we, in turn,
can lead others to His healing touch
I love the picture! You look free and happy! Release seems to be a theme with me lately. I am sure God will continue to teach me more!
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet, Mary! Yeah, mugging for the camera as the tide swept in and around me perched on an old bench.

Not especially attractive in my XX-Large sweatshirt, but great fun nonetheless!
The Spirit has sent us. Powerful verse, Linda. And, fun pic. :D --- This picture log you have going this month is such a lovely idea. I just scrolled through and looked at all the ones I've missed too. Hope you're having a joyful season, friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to scroll through, to leave thoughtful words. I know life is busy these days ...
DeleteComfort and joy to you, Brenda!
Love the picture!
ReplyDeleteGood verse. One of the guys died last night, and burying him under the stars was a very moving experience. He was a good dog, and I'm sure he's waiting for me...after having worn God out playing fetch.
Still writing.

Ah, but God never gets weary, does He!
DeleteAnd I have a little grandson up there ... I can't help but wonder if they're running around chasing each other by the crystal sea ...
I'm sorry for yet another loss in your life, friend. I've been praying for you and Barb this afternoon.
Great picture! I love the sense of freedom! And those verses are some of my favourites too!
ReplyDeleteWe need that reminder that life's not all about us, that God has called and gifted and freed us to do significant Kingdom work for His glory and the benefit of others ...

I LOVE your photo, Linda! You look so free and joyous, like you're praising God for all His mercies. It actually brings tears to my eyes. And the verse is one that is especially meaningful to me as I feel the Lord has personally called me "to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." It is good for me to be reminded of it. Christmas blessings and hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Trudy! It was a few years back and yes, it does look like I'm releasing it all ... which has become more of a practice for me in recent years.
DeleteAnd yes, I see the ways you've said 'yes' to God's call on your life. You reach out right and left, you share your story in ways that are appropriate and encouraging and redemptive.
I'm grateful that we're in this blogging thing together ... who'd have guessed how God could use social media to reach so many with His kindness and grace!
Fantastic photo, Linda! It captures perfectly the image of release.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
And thank YOU, Martha! You've been such a warm and steady presence throughout this series. It's meant so much to me during what are super-busy weeks for so many.
DeleteYou've encouraged me greatly, friend ...
My FAVORITE!
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet!
DeleteI think this one is my favorite too, Linda, at least so far! Merry Christmas to you and yours, my friend. So grateful to know you ...
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet, too.
DeleteYou guys are the best encouragers, you know that, don't you?
