I believe her books The Emotionally Destructive Relationship: Seeing It, Stopping It, Surviving It and The Emotionally Destructive Marriage: How to Find Your Voice and Reclaim Your Hope are lifesavers, game-changers ... and must reading for all people helpers as well as those who are entwined in relationships that are unhealthy or toxic.
Leslie is offering a FREE 90 minute webinar on Tuesday, October 4th. I've already signed up and I'm encouraging my readers to do the same.

Leslie writes ~
'As a Christian counselor and licensed social worker, I have witnessed the devastating effects of emotional abuse in a marriage. Sometimes couples try to fix the issues but how do you know when a destructive person is TRULY changing or just faking it?
Maybe you know someone in this type of relationship, or you wonder if your relationship IS this. After all, many women do not even realize their relationship is destructive and may even think certain behavior is normal.
For this reason, I am doing a FREE 90 minute webinar where I will share with you what you need to do to reclaim your voice and speak up, set boundaries, and heal your own damaged identity.
During this webinar, I will cover how to:
* Recognize the behaviors and heart attitudes of someone who is really changing.
* Confront and speak truth in the right way and at the right time.
* Build an identity in Christ and not in your marriage.
I invite you to join me on a live webinar on Tuesday October 4th @ 7:30 PM EST
CLICK HERE to join us. As women, we need to educate ourselves so we can recognize this very real problem that we face and learn how to handle it in a way that glorifies God. Please join me.'

Meanwhile, check out Leslie's website ... it's filled to overflowing with videos, conversations, evaluations, and solid Biblical wisdom. So desperately needed ... sadly.
'See you' at the webinar, friend ...
Oh and by the way, would you please spread the news about Leslie and the webinar to your social media tribe and women's groups? I'm guessing that everyone who skims through this post probably knows someone who's just been waiting for the help she's offering.
And maybe you have no idea at all.

Hi Linda! It's so good to be back blogging and to reconnect with my friends...like you! Thank you for your kind comment on the blog today.
ReplyDeleteHow generous of you to encourage us all to attend this webinar! Something tells me that you could do a good job at instructing us all in this subject too. And I think it's not always for people in troubled marriages. It could keep some out of the 'trouble zone' too.
Have a blessed Monday my friend,
Ceil
Wow! I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to see your beautiful face again!
DeleteWelcome, welcome back to blogging, friend! You'll never know how much you've been missed ...
;-}
I love Leslie books, I have given out several to women who are in destructive relationship. So very glad you are taking up this issue and teaching others how to live through some tough times.
ReplyDeleteI love that you've taken the time to share these great resources with others, Betty. Emotionally destructive relationships often emerge under the guise of misunderstood Biblical submission.
DeleteLet's get the word out.
Yes, yes, yes and we have encountered this in the missionary circle too. We come out of a church that borders on helping abuse happen because of the mis understood teaching on submission.
DeleteDear Betty ... it saddens me greatly when I see and hear that ministry leaders are caught up in the ugly web of emotional abuse, spiritual abuse, verbal abuse, and physical abuse all in the 'name' of submission.
DeleteGod have mercy on our churches ...
Sounds like a great webinar. Thanx for all your good works.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
You're always huge support around here, Victor. Thanks, man ...
DeleteWhat a lovely calling, Linda. I'll be praying for your webinar and for Leslie's, and for the folks who will be blessed through them. Will tweet this and hope it helps to get the word out for you. Sweet blessings to you, friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for spreading the word. And yes, the prayer. This is more than a relational issue, it's a spiritual battle.
DeleteMay blessings flow back to you, Brenda.
Thanks for letting me know about this webinar. Heading over now to sign up. I'm glad we are neighbors at #intentionaltuesday this morning!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love when you end up at the right place at a link-up? Would love to hear your take on the webinar soon after, Kelly ...
DeleteSounds awesome and would have been the perfect thing for me years ago. Thank you for sharing this resource with your readers. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya', Mary ... sometimes it's hard to find what you need when you're just trying to survive.
DeleteI'm hoping that the community shares this with their own tribe because, for sure, there's women out there that need this help.
Havent heard of this author.. I feel so uninformed on literature ever since I stopped working at the local library! - http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
ReplyDeleteLeslie's website is fabulous! I'm so excited to share her with you all ...
DeleteThank you, Linda. I registered. I also tweeted this post. I might not be able to make that time, but I'm hoping there will be the opportunity to watch it later. Blessings and hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteDear Trudy ... I am so glad to hear that you've registered. I would so appreciate hearing your thoughts after the webinar. They, and you, are so very valued.
DeleteBlessings, friend ...
Thanks, Linda! I am a fan of Lesley as well and have heard her speak at several AACC Conferences in Nashville.
ReplyDeleteWhatcha bet we were in some of those very same seminars together along the way, Pam?! I would have loved to connect with you in some quiet nook at one of those massive, just a tad overwhelming AACC events!

Didn't know about this, Linda, and I'm a big fan of Leslie's as well! I interviewed her back many years ago at a conference we both attended. She's very nice. And I'll be sharing your news in the Twittersphere! Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteI knew you {and your tribe!} would value this webinar, friend. Thanks for sharing with your gang ...
DeleteThanks for sharing this information, Linda. It sounds great and it is an important topic. I will share the post and have signed up, though I'm hoping it's possible to watch it afterwards as the time zone difference makes it too late here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for spreading the word, Lesley, about Lesley!

Yes, I hear that people might not be able to make it, and hopefully it will be available afterwards. She's a super counselor and oh so wise.
