Please pray for our 17 year old granddaughter, Lydia, as she heads to Tyre, Lebanon on a church missions trip this Thursday for 11 days. She is one of 10 adults and students who will be serving families in Syrian refugee camps by sharing meals, engaging with women and children, and encouraging local believers.
Long time readers will remember when she had successful surgery to remove a benign brain tumor 10 years ago. The Lord was certainly present and powerful then and we believe that He is the same today.
Lydia is sheer delight, filled with joy, an athlete, an artist, a leader with a passionate heart for missions. This will be her 5th trip overseas.
Please pray for the group's health, safety, and witness for Jesus Christ in the midst of difficult circumstances. As you might guess, as her 'Ma,' I am concerned, even as I'm so grateful for her strong commitment to Christ. When I asked her if I could ask you all to pray, she said, 'Absolutely! Thank you!!'
Good morning, Linda! I am happy to pray for your granddaughter. What an amazing mission trip.
ReplyDeleteLord,
Protect Lydz and her group as they travel and minister in Lebanon. Provide them with listening hearts and the words to speak as they spend time serving the refugees. You know what they need and we know you are faithful, God. Thank you for all you are going to do. Amen.
Amen, Mary!
Delete'You know what they need and we know you are faithful, God.'
I love reading these aunt Linda thank you for always sending out the links!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love how our great big family, stretched from here to there, supports and encourages each other ... even if it's texting instead of face to face!
DeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI am lifting Lydia up in prayer right now! May she minister with Christ's love to the refugees in Lebanon. Syria is really a hotbed of evil and unrest right now! My God's hedge of protection be around her!
Blessings,
Bev xx
Praise God that hedge of protection goes with us no matter where we land! I love that!
DeleteI will commit to praying for her Linda.
ReplyDeleteBill, thanks ...
DeleteI am praying for Lydia now and while she and her team are ministering in Syria. I love her heart to go in a really hard place to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
ReplyDeleteShe is an incredible example to me of what faith commitment and courage look like.
DeleteThanks for praying with us, Pam ...
Praying for Lydia and the whole group. May God bless them for having the courage to evangelise.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and yours, Linda.
God bless you all.
Thanks for those prayers, Victor ...
DeleteI will most certainly be praying for Lydia, Linda. What a precious young lady! Hope you will all let us know when she's back in the States.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I will keep you posted, Martha, yes!
DeleteYour grandma's heart understands where mine is ...
Praying as I was reading. What a lovely young lady and how grand to celebrate the beauty of her heart for the Lord. Thanks, Linda!
ReplyDeleteCelebrate. Yes! Thanks for that nudge toward continuous gratitude, Pam ...
DeletePraying that she will be filled with the Spirit and that His ministering angels will watch over her and the entire group.
ReplyDeleteAmen, June. Amen.
DeleteWhat a sweetheart she is! Bless her, dear Jesus, and bring her home safe to her family who loves her so much. In Your precious name, we pray, amen.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate you praying right here with me, friend. And yes, she is a sweetheart in all the ways that matter most. We are blessed.
DeletePraying for your precious granddaughter and her group as they travel to Lebanon. What a wonderful mission trip! She will change lives and have hers changed too.
ReplyDeleteHer heart is so tender toward the Lord and the mission field. We are excited to see how that plays out in the years ahead.
DeleteOh I will surely pray for beautiful Lydia. May our Lord use her in such a way that it surpasses all understanding that she may have and may He touch her heart deeply. I love that she is able to go. What a true blessing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThose 'surpasses all understanding' prayers raise our hopes and strengthen our faith. Anticipating what God will do gives us peace!
DeleteThanks, Cindy ...
What a beauty, Linda! And she must have a beautiful heart too to make missions such a priority!
ReplyDeleteI'd be worried too, if she was my granddaughter traveling to the Middle East. So I'm covering her in prayer today and will add her to my prayer list as well!
Yes, the grandma contingency gets where I'm coming from ... I feel blessed to be in such good company!
DeleteWow Linda — this made me chuckle a bit. Some people can’t go state to state and she is traveling across the world in a pandemic. Lydia is a cute, grown up young lady and yes, I remember well her brain surgery. What a glorious God we have and her heart for him encourages me so.
ReplyDeleteWill pray as I lift you all up almost each and everyday.
You've said exactly what I've been thinking, Carol. I can't get in to see my mother, my daughters' states are closed to me, but my granddaughter can go half a world away.
DeleteThis is an odd time indeed.
Linda, wow. What a beautiful young lady Lydia must be . . . inside and out. What an opportunity for her to see God at work in amazing ways. I'll be praying for her and for your family in her absence.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Yes, that's our God and that's how He works! It's one thing when He does that in our own lives. But to see Him at work in the lives of our grandchildren is a truly wonderful joy ...
DeleteI will keep her in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet ...
DeleteLinda, I prayed for your Lydz last night around 3 a.m. when I was lying awake, unable to sleep. She sounds like the kind of teenager who helps restore my faith in the future of the world!
ReplyDeleteHaving 2 beauties of your own, I know you hear my heart on this. That you've prayed at 3 in the morning touches my heart so.
DeleteAnd most of all, His.
Praying for Lydia and the rest of the team as they go on this trip, and that they have a real impact on those they meet. It's wonderful that she wants to so this!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Lesley. God is so good ...
DeleteYes yes lots of prayers. What a witness and adventure for her.
ReplyDeleteLots of prayers! I'm so grateful for you all!
DeletePraying right now for Lydia, that she will have safe travels and will have enlightening experiences as she shares the love of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteYour words of blessing brought to mind that song, 'open the eyes of my heart, Lord. I want to see You ...'
DeletePraying that God will use this trip for her and the people she works with.
ReplyDeleteBeth, thank you for being here this morning!
DeleteThank you Lord that you are going with Lydia and the rest of the group and you'll keep them safe. Thank you that they are hidden under the shadow of Your wings and you have already gone ahead of them. In Jesus name, Amen
ReplyDeleteAmen, Wemi, amen ...
DeletePraying for your granddaughter. My husband was born in Lebanon. His parents were missionaries there, and his father taught at one of the American universities in Beirut.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that you've connected with me this weekend! It is a small world ...
DeletePraying for your granddaughter that God will use her and protect on her trip.
ReplyDeleteTJ, thank you. I know you have a tender heart for those who live far from these shores.
DeleteBlessings ...
I will be praying for Lydz as she follows the Lord and pray that the Lord protects her, keeps her safe, and gives her many opportunities for ministry! I can only imagine how thankful your heart is for her dedication to the Lord, and yet, concerned for her safe travels. Prayers cover it all! Blessings to you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteEverything we've heard so far has been positive and enthusiastic! We're so grateful for the Lord's protection.
DeleteAnd your prayers ...
I'll be praying for her safety and she will return home refreshed both physically and spiritually.
ReplyDeleteAmen! We're praying them home tomorrow night!
