Sit * Advent Open House

SIT

O Lord, You have searched me
and You know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely, O Lord.
- Psalm 139:1 - 4 -

  2. Sitting is my favourite hobby. I practice it often. Sometimes in front of a TV, in a park, by the river, in the car ... even at work. I sit and watch other people working.

    God bless.

    1. Yep, I'm with you, Victor. I love sitting.

      Got to admit it.

      But walking's a good thing, too, ya' know?!

      All things in moderation.

      ;-}

  3. sitting in His presence is something I struggle with. I'm wired as a go, go, go girl and it's hard for me to just sit and rest. I'm working on it. Thanks for the reminder :)

    1. Yeah, it can be a great big challenge to quiet our hearts ... so much grabs for our attention, doesn't it, Nicki.

      I sure do hear you ...

  4. Yes! That's the way I like to sit this time of year - entwined in a blanket or quilt!

    Again, you chose perfect illustrations.

    I like knowing my God keeps track of me - sitting or going out!

  5. As I stand at my computer when reading/writing blogs and surfing the web, sitting is a most welcome break for me. Love that quilt, too! Blessings, Linda!

  8. Love sitting in front of the fireplace wrapped in my favorite throw thinking on Him and Him alone. quiet time is hard to get in our house since we live with our son and family so when it comes...it's wonderful...

    1. Oh a fireplace that's used ... yes, please! We have one but it sits idle.

      * sigh *

      Fun to have you here, Betty!

  9. Sitting is actually painful for me right now, because of my hip injury. Maybe I can change that to "recline"! Love the Psalm you chose.
