These commandments that I give you today
are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.

I love the photo a day idea during Advent, Linda. That would be a very interesting way to take in the moments that fly by during the days leading up to Christmas. Thanks for sharing about it and for sharing that lovely shot of your grandkids too! Brings a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth! I'm excited about walking through Advent in this way ...
DeleteBlessings to you and Gary as you make your way through this extraordinary season.
What a wonderful idea, Linda, and a great way to celebrate Advent!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
For some reason, it's making Advent more personal to me ...
DeleteWhat a GREAT idea! I am waiting with great anticipation for His next coming!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, My Friend!
Amen. More than once in recent days I've said, 'come, Lord Jesus, come.'
DeleteAnd meant it with all my heart.
What a wonderful idea! Wish I had a camera. If I had more energy I'd post word-pictures for caregivers, to go along with the words.
ReplyDeleteCan't resist a challenge. Advent For Caregivers will be up, with a short essay to go along with each photo-prompt-word.
DeleteI mean, why not?
I couldn't be more excited about this, man! Be sure and check out http://www.pexels.com and http://www.unsplash.com for free pictures!
DeleteSuperb! What a ginormous blessing you are!
Lovely! Christmas celebrations are so closely tied to home. May they point us toward our eternal one!
ReplyDeleteI'll remember what you've said, Barbara.
DeleteYour words give home and celebration and occasions with loved ones a whole new depth of meaning.
I love this verse. I also love your photo a day list for advent.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be fun!
DeleteI think ...
;-}
Hi Linda! One of the wonderful things about Advent are the traditions that my family had. I really hope they have translated to my children. We light the Advent wreath, had Advent calendars...and would talk about what we did for someone else.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a girl, just before bed, my mom would hand us pieces of straw for each good deed we did. No questions about what the deed was, it was an honor system. We'd put our straw on the little stick cradle in our crib set, so Jesus would have a cushioned place to sleep when he was born. I love that memory.
God bless!
Ceil
Oh Ceil ... what a beautiful memory to cherish ... laying down our straw, our good deeds at the feet of Jesus. So symbolic of what we'll do some day in heaven.
DeleteWe didn't celebrate Advent when I was a child, and only in recent years has it become a treasure, a comfort to me.
Thank you for sharing a most beautiful tradition with us. My heart is stirred ...
How fun, Linda! and your picture is the essence of home - love it!
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you again, June ...
DeleteAdvent blessings to you!
I saw this on Andrew's Blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, Linda. How have you been?
So happy to see what blessings you are sharing here.
Hearty Blessings to you
Dear Ifeoma, it's wonderful to see your smiling face ... and it's been fun to bump into you over at LinkedIn here and there.
DeleteI hope you are well!
I LOVE this, and I hadn't seen it on Instagram. Going to look her up there. And I do like your photo of HOME, friend. Looks homey indeed.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the first thing about Instagram but I knew this could translate well on the blog.
DeleteAnticipating it all ...
Best to you, Betsy.
A little late to the party. But what a great idea to centre on on Advent through the intention of taking a photo. I'm going to grab this gem. Thank you Linda!
ReplyDeleteAh, you're never late around here, Lynn!
