This is one of those weeks where Monday felt like Friday, Tuesday felt like Sunday, Wednesday felt like Monday. The calendar informs me that today is Thursday, but I'd swear it was Tuesday.
Whatever.
Holidays tend to leave us a bit topsy tervy, routines and schedules tossed to the wind.
We might not be sure if we're coming or going. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, is it.
May you find a hammock that swings gentle, pockets of peace and quiet, and an extra nap tucked somewhere in there, just because.
No matter what day you think it is.

ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful summer!
Seems like there's either too many lazy moments ... or not enough.
DeleteHope you'll find some grace space for yourself this weekend, friend.
Thanks for the recommended reading, Linda!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Pleasure!
DeleteSo I just clicked over and read "Keep Not Quitting" - I need to remember that phrase! And now I'm going to follow more of these links. Thanks, Linda!
ReplyDeleteSarah usually hits the ball out of the park. I'm a fan ...
DeleteGreat list of books, Linda...and I have to admit that I made up my mind to quit grad school just about every day I was there. But quitting was such a bureaucratic mess that it was easier to stay.

Yeah, those were rough, challenging years, weren't they. But I wouldn't trade them for the world. Some things are worth pushing through, aren't they.
DeleteAnd you continue to show us how to do it.
A list of reads - yes! That's like hitting a gold for this girl. Thanks for sharing, Linda. It's always a gift coming here to your peaceful corner of the blogosphere. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's a peaceful place for you to land, Kristi ...

have a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou, too!

Wow Linda, these articles are great. You know the one that resonates with me the most is about singles. The writer hit the nail on the head with that article. Reciprocating service to singles was something I hadn't thought of but I would kill for someone to do a few handyman things for me while I babysat their kids in return....
ReplyDeleteHenry Cloud's explanation of codependency was the best I ever heard. "Codependency is most simply defined as a tendency to take too much responsibility for the PROBLEMS of others." Well, I see that everyone is guilty of that to different degrees. I chuckled when Cloud said, "However, no one has ever yet made an unhappy person happy."
Awesome stuff, Tx
A number of women in this community are singles so I am happy to share that post, not only with you, but to those of us who find ourselves married. {I knew you'd appreciate it!}
DeleteAnd oh yeah, I do love Henry Cloud. Always profound, often humorous.
And here's a link to that two part singles series we did 15 months ago.

Happily most of these ladies are still frequent visitors 'round these parts!
I'm with you on the days of the week, friend. But then I can get mixed up on a regular week, lol! Thanks for sharing this scented offering today. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend is bringing you unexpected treats, my friend ...
DeleteI will read DeFanzo's book about Singles. I have my own opinions, and am curious if we think alike!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Enjoy the link! And be sure to see Carol's comments above.
DeleteAnd the link on Singles in the Church that you guys helped author

Oh my gosh...you just gave me more books to add to my TBR lists! I hope you are swinging in your hammock reading!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wasn't too clear that these 'Bouquets' are links to my favorite recent online reads, not books ...
DeleteTrust me, I haven't read 8 books this month! Not by far!
;-}
I commented before I started clicking through your links to realize they are blogs and articles! That shows I'm moving too fast still! You've given me some great articles to come back to this summer. Thank you!
ReplyDelete* smile *
DeleteSounds like a really powerful lineup of books to read! Summer is slipping away like pearls on a necklace, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the links during this fleeting summer weekend, friend ...
DeleteI'll take note of this list. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and not-so-crazy week ahead.
Not-so-crazy. Yeah, I like that, Lux!

The article about singles in church caught my attention. It's interesting to know that singles are not outnumbering married people in the church. I am also glad to read that singles do have different needs but we can certainly coexist with married couples.
ReplyDeleteI also read the article about receiving your summer life with less envy. She gave some great ideas to achieve that. Her words reminded me of you because I feel you do this very well. Thank you for sharing these articles with us.
I'm glad you're here, Mary. And yes, I love sharing all the good stuff with ya' ...

Linda,
ReplyDeleteLoved the Letter Sent on Wings to Your Dad!! My dad is in paradise with your dad and I smile every time I find myself saying something my dad might have said. When I do, I feel like he is right there with me smiling. It's amazing how the longer they are gone from this earthly existence, the more we miss and appreciate them. I, too, have a reading list - looking forward to some beach time to just escape into a book (one of my favorite activities). Enjoyed popping by this morning. Blessings to you this day - no matter what day you think it is lol.
Blessings,
Bev xx
Thanks for hanging out and browsing around early this morning, Bev. I hope the sunrise brings renewed strength and energy to your mending body. Your posts have shown us all that it is well with your soul.
DeleteAnd what a bounty that is!
