Joy * Advent Open House

JOY

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;

While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy
 Isaac Watts

And somewhere in the process of hearing His still, small voice,
may you find yourself singing your own very personal carol of joy
knowing that your Redeemer is loving, gracious, and kind ...
even in the midst of the bittersweet.

  1. Isn't it amazing that "Joy to the World" was written so very long ago, yet we still sing it with great rejoicing today. I love the version that adds, along with other lyrics, "joy, unspeakable joy!"
    Blessings, Linda!

    1. Some things in life are timeless, aren't they ... and music is one of them. Especially when it's centered on Jesus Christ!

  2. Oh how I love “Joy to the World”. And we have this third week that shifts slightly toward joy.

    Thanks for this simplicity to reflect upon.

    1. Simplicity. Yes, yes ... we're craving it right about now!
