BLINK
Don't wear yourself out trying to get rich;
restrain yourself!
Riches disappear in the blink of an eye;
wealth sprouts wings
and flies off into the wild blue yonder.
restrain yourself!
Riches disappear in the blink of an eye;
wealth sprouts wings
and flies off into the wild blue yonder.

Ha. It almost looks like the one bird is carrying the other one. Then closer looks says, "Nope." The Scripture is very appropriate and so true.
ReplyDeleteYou're reminding me of that Galatians 6 passage ...
DeleteLinda! What an awesome picture and scripture to illustrate "blink"!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of blink, it's the time period from when my grands were born and the age they are now. It happened in a blink!
I've been thinking about the same thing in recent months, Jerralea ...
DeleteLife is moving at an incredibly swift pace.
I love how one word of each Scripture you share is brought out and brings a deeper meaning to the verse, Linda. For example, I probably would never have concentrated on the work blink as I read this passage. Life is fleeting, isn't it? I think the older I get, the faster it goes. I recently said to my husband, "Where did November go!? Where did this year go!?" It boggles my mind sometimes. Love and hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head, Trudy --> 'I think the older I get, the faster it goes.'
DeleteI want to slow life down, but that's not going to happen. I'm confident that God numbers our days ... and in that I find peace. And a reminder to make every day count.
;-)
I've enjoyed looking through your first few Advent posts. The pictures are beautiful and really bring out the meaning of the quotes and Scriptures!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so glad, Lesley!

I love the advent photo list. I am going to start now!
ReplyDeleteOh cool! I'm so excited to have you join in, Kara!

Linda, what a cool idea. Highlighting a word with scripture and a photo.
ReplyDeleteI love doing this ... and am happy you're here, Theresa!
DeleteA wonderful verse for the theme!
ReplyDeleteThere are a few words that are hard to work into the theme ... like this coming Saturday's word, CHEW!
